Norwegian Series 1999/2005/2007
The Norwegian Series are a suite of four large-scale photographic works made during a summer night in the Vinstra region of central Norway in 1999.
(Archival pigment prints from colour negative, mounted on dibond with coloured beechwood frame & museum glass. 104 x 154 x 5 cm each.)
Norwegian Series #1 and Norwegian Series #3 were exhibited in Fiona Crisp, Matthew Tickle, Phillip Warnell at Matt’s Gallery, September 2005 and Phantasm, Market Gallery, Glasgow 2006.
Norwegian Series #3 2007 (30x42cm) is included in the limited edition A3 portfolio E3 4RR published by Matt’s Gallery, London in 2007. Editions of the folio are in The Tate Gallery Collection, The British Council Collection, The Arts Council Collection and The Government Art Collection.
This work is currently being shown in the exhibition Looking at the View at Tate Britain and is featured in the article Blue Sky Thinking in the Review section of the Saturday Guardian 2nd Feb and Framing the View: Six artists reveal how they chose landscapesat Guardian online.
